Here at Offshoot, we’re dedicated to lighting up your day (or at least your project). Whether you need a cozy lifestyle look or a moody, dramatic atmosphere, our professional-grade lighting gear can help bring your creative vision to life. Both our studio spaces include lighting options, plus we have even more lights for hire if you need them. Let’s look at each light we offer and how it’s best used.

Neewer FS150 130W Continuous LED Light
Included when you hire Space 1, this light uses 130W and provides a uniform, cool 5600K light that renders colours faithfully. The light scores a 97+ on the Colour Rendering Index (CRI) and 98 on the Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI).
Key features include:
- Quick dimming that adjusts from 1 to 100 in 1 percent increments
- 4 dimming types (exponential, logarithmic, S, and linear)
- 9 built-in lighting effects
- Can be controlled by the Neewer phone app
This versatile light is perfect for portraits, interviews, YouTube/TikTok video recording, filming, live streaming, and studio production. We love it because it is small and light while still packing a lighting punch. The built-in lighting effects are handy for video, and they allow you to simulate a lot of scenarios easily. The fact that it connects to the phone app centralises all the lights in Space 1, making them easier to control together and allowing you to preview the effect of changes on your subject directly. Its lower power output means that the fan doesn’t kick in as quickly, and the plastic body minimises the heat on the outer shell of the light, making handling easy enough after a long run time.

Neewer FS230B 230W Continuous Bi-Colour LED Light
Also included in a Space 1 hire, this COB LED light is known for its brightness. It has a maximum output power of 230W. Like the Neewer FS150 130W, it scores 97+ CRI and 98+ TLCI.
Key features include:
- Both warm and cool lighting, with a 2700-6500k colour temperature range
- 12 built-in lighting effects
- Quiet cooling fan keeps noise level below 25 dB at 1 metre away
- Lightweight and portable
We love this light for similar reasons to the FS150, except that this light is even brighter. Thanks to its bi-colour ability, you can choose from a yellower white to a more blue white, which comes in handy when experimenting with different photos and video feels. Adding more yellow adds warmth, while adding more blue makes something feel more crisp (like products, for example). The FS230B has a few more built-in effects than the FS150 as well – more effects are always better!

Godox SL60W 60W Continuous LED Light
This 60W LED continuous light is included when you hire Space 2. This fixture provides stable, uniform daylight colour at 5600K temperature. It rates highly on colour accuracy, with a CRI of 95+ and TLCI of 90+.
Key features include:
- Wireless remote control to adjust brightness
- Temperature control to prevent overheating
- Lightweight and portable
Because of its portability, it’s ideal for events and photojournalism. In Space 2, our clients have used this light for vodcasts, product photography, and remote meetings.
The SL60W has been a staple for a reason – it just works. It’s one of the simplest lights in our set-up, but it does all the essentials we need. It lends itself well to Space 2 because you just turn it on, set the brightness, and record. The standard Bowens mount also means that you can modify the light using our assortment of softboxes.

Neewer FS300C 300W Continuous RGB LED Light
This lighting fixture provides a powerful 300W output for a uniform light without flickers. It renders colours accurately, with a CRI and TLCI of 97+.
Key features include:
- Wide colour temperature range of 2500-7500K
- 17 built-in lighting effects and digital replicates of 40 Lee and Rosco gel filters
- Fan modes of Auto, Boost, and Silent for flexible cooling
- Powered by an adapter and a power cord for extended shooting
This light fixture is great for just about any use case, including portraits, interviews, YouTube/TikTok video recording, filming, and live streaming.
The RGB functionality of this light completely changes how you think about coloured lights. It gives you access to basically any colour you can think of, and you can change it on the fly – all the benefits of colour gels with none of the drawbacks. It has a lot of built-in effects that make it the most powerful and creative light in the studio. The fan mode settings allow you to manage fan noise, which is particularly helpful when recording audio.

Neewer 660 50W Continuous RGB LED Light
The 660 series’ hybrid design combines bi-colour white LEDs with dedicated RGB beads. In the RGB mode, you have full-spectrum color control. The 360-degree hue range and incremental saturation adjustments allow you to create nearly any colour. This light offers flicker-free illumination and accurate colours with a CRI of 97+.
Key features include:
- Wide colour temperature range of 3200K-5600K for both warm and cool temperatures
- Dimming range between 0 and 100 percent in 1 percent increments
- 9 built-in lighting effects
- Adjustability with a U bracket and 4-way barn doors
We recommend this light for a wide range of uses, such as vodcasts, product photography, and remote meetings. Given it is a panel, its flat build makes it better in small spaces (compared with our other lights). The light can also be used with Sony battery packs so that you have portable RGB lights you can take anywhere. This light also has built-in effects, barn doors, and a diffuser that controls and softens the light, making it a very powerful light for a range of different use cases. At 50W, it is not very powerful, but its features versus its size makes it a favourite around the studio.

Aputure LS 600D 600W Continuous LED Light
This fixture is the brightest single-source LED light available. It also scores well for colour accuracy with 96+ scores for CRI and TLCI. This LED light draws a maximum of only 720W, unlike the higher power demands of HMIs.
Key features include:
- Intense light without the frequent bulb changes required by HMI and tungsten lamps
- 8 built-in lighting effects
- Separate wireless control box
- Bowens mount and sturdy construction
This one light can meet many lighting challenges, such as lighting a large area, serving as a key light or backlight, and mimicking sunshine through a window.
It really doesn’t get any better than the LS 600D. It is so bright that we rarely use it above 40% power. The built-in fan does get a little loud when running at higher power, but that’s unavoidable given that the brighter the light, the more heat it produces – and as a result, the more cooling it needs. This light is easily the most cumbersome to set up and comes in two parts, unlike the other lights that are combined. The fact that the power supply and controller are separate from the light does make it easier to access the controls, which we love. All in all, there simply isn’t a better light.
The Aputure LS 600D is available for hire. We were so excited about this light that we wrote a whole post about it! If this fixture sounds like the lighting solution for you, find out more in the equipment description.
