We started out to design the ideal professional photography studio in Canberra, one that could handle anything from fashion shoots to product photography. We wanted to build the best photography studios in Canberra and we’re on a mission to make Offshoot a creative hub designed for creatives in Canberra.

Offshoot as it’s evolved is designed not only for photographers but also for a range of creatives, including videographers, podcasters, content creators, business owners, and social media influencers. Like most studios, we’re available for hire by the hour (with a 2-hour minimum), half day, full day, and even multi-day.

In addition to our great studio spaces in Canberra, we have great people too! This talented, friendly bunch can assist you on your next creative project.

Emma, our Studio Assistant, focuses on bookings for studio hire and equipment hire. She also helps out as needed during your studio booking.

Space 1 – our original studio

Space 1 is a large professional studio with ample lights, high ceilings, and enough room so that your creativity is not limited.

This studio is completely blacked out (apart from one lonely emergency exit light in the corner) giving you complete control over the lighting. If you feel like using natural light, you can simply open our huge roller door and let the natural light come pouring in.

Backgrounds are a breeze too. You’re spoiled for choice with two of the large walls featuring a stunning textured concrete finish.

Uses for studio space 1

This professional studio is an ideal space for any production that needs to spread out, whether you’re shooting video, recording audio, or doing photography. There’s room enough to move a vehicle inside the studio, and we offer a selection of backdrops, furniture, props, and decorative items to customise the space.

The studio also works if you need a lot of room to shoot things like dance rehearsals or a music video with a group of performers, especially if you’re looking for an interesting backdrop or creative effects.

Space 2 – the smaller studio for hire

Not content with one studio, we created Space 2 as well. This smaller studio space is more intimate and offers effective sound proofing for professional grade video and audio production. It’s equipped with video, lights, and audio equipment for a seamless creative experience. Space 2 has climate control, and more affordable pricing to suit the large range of creatives we serve.

Our smaller studio is ideal for recording video or audio podcasts and meetings. It features floor-to-ceiling windows, one with natural light flooding in.

Studio amenities

Our location is convenient, only a short drive away from most parts of Canberra. There is ample parking, with both off-street and on-street parking available.

We are easily accessible, with all the studio facilities on one floor and disability-friendly doors and bathroom. If you’re bringing in a lot of camera and lighting equipment or anything bulky, it’s easy to drive right up to the Space 1 entrance and unload.

Our studio offers amenities like a kitchenette, tea and coffee, shared common area, make up table, and change room.
